With July in full swing and the recent spell of warm, sunny weather, there’s a real sense of summer across the community. At Le Chéile, we continue to be busy, welcoming, and full of community spirit as we work alongside and support people across North Cork.
In June the staff of Le Chéile FRC were sad to say good bye to our colleague Milena, who has moved on to a new stage in her career, and wish her all the best.
Mallow was well represented at the recent Senior Olympics in Cork City where the group were thrilled to bring home gold, with two prizes for “Best Mover” and “Most Helpful”. The two year reigning champions travelled with Community Health Worker Leah Murphy for the event.
Leah is undertaking a survey at present, to see what is working well in Mallow and what the health needs are. Please follow Mallow Community Health Project on Instagram or Facebook to complete health needs analysis survey. Alternatively, you can contact Leah on 0874335047 to complete over the phone or on paper. As a thank you to everyone who replies to the survey, there is a chance to win a month’s free gym membership in Xtreme CSC gym Mallow.

One Town One Voice are delighted to be performing not once but twice in July. On Wednesday July 15th there is a Family Fun Day where they will be singing in the CDYS Youth Hall in the afternoon. And on Wednesday July 22nd, they are honoured to be singing at the Opening Night Concert of the Mallow Arts Festival in the Hibernian Hotel, with a starting time of 9pm. Both of these events are free and all welcome!
Across all of our work, our Community Health Projects, Social Prescribing, Art Therapy, Family Support, and Counselling services remain central to what we do. Throughout the summer and beyond, we continue to deliver inclusive programmes for all ages and communities, including Men’s and Women’s Sheds, literacy supports for children and adults, and dedicated outreach for Ukrainian families.
Our purpose-built childcare centre continues to thrive, providing high-quality care alongside a vibrant outdoor play space where children aged 6 months to 6 years can learn, explore, and enjoy the summer sunshine.
We also offer affordable and flexible room hire for community groups, meetings, and events, with welcoming spaces suitable for gatherings of up to 150 people. For bookings or enquiries, please email bookings@lecheilefrc.ie or call 022 42439.
