As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, autumn has settled in around Le Chéile Family Resource Centre. The changing leaves, cosy evenings, and the excitement of Halloween bring a new season of energy and connection to our community. Just like the seasons, life at Le Chéile is always moving and changing – with plenty happening for everyone to enjoy.
The multicultural community singing group, One Town One Voice is back, and new members always welcome from all cultures. The group sing together with Song Leader Rosie Gerarty, no singing background necessary and instruments most welcome also. Contact Eithne at 087 7193257.
The Laugh & Craft group meets every Tuesday evening from 7-9pm at the Mercy Centre, P51 PF10. This friendly gathering invites people to unwind with crafts, laughter, and good company. No experience is needed—participants are encouraged to simply come as they are and enjoy an evening of creativity. Contact Allison at 087-9008726.
Parents and young children can look forward to the Parent & Toddler Group, which takes place on Wednesday mornings from 9:45-11.30 at The Blue Cube, P51 VAK2. This relaxed and welcoming session gives parents and their little ones the chance to play, chat, and connect with other families in the community. It’s an easy-going way to meet new people while providing children with playtime in a safe, social environment. Contact Allison at 087-9008726.
For those raising children on the autism spectrum, Le Cheile Family Resource Centre offers a Support Group for Parents of Children on the Spectrum. The group meets on Mondays from 9:30-11am at Le Cheile FRC, P51 F344. This supportive space allows parents to share experiences, discover helpful resources, and build a sense of community with others on a similar journey. For more information or to join any of the groups, interested individuals can contact Allison at 087-9008726.
The summer saw lots of Le Chéile activities, from days out to Youghal Beach to Le Chéile having a stand at the wonderful Together At The Castle event. Le Chéile also hosted a musical afternoon for Culture Night, including performances from young and not so young in our community.
