Le Chéile Family Resource Centre was the focus of many celebrations recently. The new website for the organisation was launched, and is available here at www.lecheilefrc.ie. The website will prove an invaluable asset to the community of Mallow, with sections about the various social groups and services offered by Le Chéile FRC.
At the launch the opportunity was taken to rename some rooms in the Le Chéile Centre and in the Mercy Centre. The new rooms are now called: McAuley Hall (after Mallow’s Catherine McAuley), the Lombard Room (named after Nora Ann Lombard), the Fenlon Room (named after past Manager of Le Chéile, Marie Fenlon), and the Blackwater Room, named after Mallow’s famous river.
After the announcement of the room names, the North Cork Social Prescribing service was launched. Social Prescribing is a free service which helps to link people into community resources and support. People are welcome to get in touch with the service directly or can be referred by their GP, Public Health Nurse or other health professional. To find out more, just contact Social Prescriber Eithne Foley. Tel 087 7193257.
